Beverly Sparks Reed, 66, of Radford, passed away Friday, November 30, 2012. She was a member of Carter Street United Methodist Church where she was the church secretary. She was preceded in death by her parents William Bennett and Helen Clark Sparks. Survivors include her husband of 43 years, Billy Wayne Reed; daughters, Helen Inez Reed and Melisa Jo Reed; sister and brother-in-law, Norma Sparks and Coy Bennett of Hardy; mother-in-law, Louise Reed of Parrott; brothers-in-law, Kenneth Reed, Sr. and his wife Bootsie of Radford, and Jerry Reed of Parrott; sisters-in-law, Peggy Barber and her husband Eddie of Richlands, and Susie Busby and her husband Calvin of Asheville, NC; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. A memorial service will be held Sunday, December 2, 2012 at 7:00 pm at the Carter Street United Methodist Church with Rev. Betsy King, Rev. Terri Gregory and Rev. Lynn Mullins officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 5:00 pm at the church. Graveside services will be held Monday, December 3, 2012 at 10:00 am at the Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery in Dublin. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Carter St. UMC or to Carter St. YUMS, PO Box 3296, Radford, VA 24141.
