Betty Becknell Jones was born in Wilkes County, North Carolina on January 28, 1937 to Walter and Rosabell Becknell. She passed away Monday, May 25, 2015. Betty attended and graduated from Lincoln Heights High School. Betty married Robert Jones on July 21, 1956. To this loving union were born two sons, Robert Jones Jr. (wife Paula) currently residing in Chesterfield, Va. and William Jones currently residing in Radford, Va. Betty worked as a lab technician at Radford Arsenal for 37 years. She lived her later years at English Meadows retirement home. Those left to cherish and celebrate her life include her husband, Robert Jones; her two sons; her grandchildren, Robert III and Roshonda; her sister, Julia Dalton; and a host of nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at 10 a.m. on Monday, June 1, 2015 with the funeral following at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church, 555 West Rock Road, Radford, Va. Burial will follow at Sunrise Burial Park. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the American Alzheimer's Association.
