Betty Dean Harvey Heineman, 91, of Fairlawn, passed away on Friday, September 11, 2026. She was a member of Fairlawn Baptist Church. Betty was a good Christian woman who believed in reading her Bible and going out witnessing. She started teaching Sunday school in 1963 and served on many committees in the church throughout her lifetime. Many people appreciated her offerings of macaroni and cheese or chocolate pie when we had a church dinner or when they were sick or had a death in the family.
Betty was born in Elgood, WV, daughter of the late Homer and Hattie Harvey. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William (Wild Bill) Heineman and she outlived all her siblings and their spouses, Cecil (Pauline) Harvey, Donzie (Juanita) Harvey, Emma (Charlie) Jones, Beulah (Buck) Jones, and Ann (Oscar) Meadows. She also lost a son and daughter-in-law, Keith and Patricia Heineman.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Terry Pugh and Melanie (Randy) Boyd; grandchildren, Justin (Brandy) Boyd and Jared (Kristin) Pugh; great grandchildren, Henry and Lachlan Boyd, and Nina Pugh; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Special thank you to the ladies at Cozy Home Haven and Ireland with Gentiva that cared and took such good care of her.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until 12 Noon on Friday, September 18, 2026, at Fairlawn Baptist Church. Funeral services will begin at 12 Noon with Pastor Gary Stike officiating. Interment will follow in Sunrise Burial Park in Fairlawn.
The Heineman family is in the care of Mullins Funeral Home & Crematory in Radford. www.mullinsfuneralhome.com
