Bernard Thomas Sexton, 68, of Sandy Level, passed away Thursday, March 7, 2019. He was born and raised in Long Island, N.Y. before moving to Virginia in 1979. He was a U. S. Army veteran having served during the Vietnam War. Bernard was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Sophie Sexton. Survivors include his wife, Janice Widener Sexton; sons and daughter-in-law, Travis and Linda Sexton of Gretna, and Quinton Sexton of Wappingers Falls, N.Y.; 2 grandchildren, Dale and Cassie; brothers and their wives, Raymond and Karen Sexton, and Kenneth and June Sexton, all of Long Island, N.Y.; and several other relatives and friends. Graveside services with full military honors will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, March 12, 2019 at the Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery in Dublin.
