Barbara Jean McCoy Sowers, 80, passed away on Wednesday, November 22, 2017. She was an active member of Calvary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Pauline McCoy, and her son, Ronald Ray Sowers. Survivors include her husband of over 60 years, Billy Ray Sowers of Radford; daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and David Linkous of Radford; son and daughter-in-law, Bryan and Amy Sowers of Lynchburg; grandchildren, Taelor Sowers, Angie Linkous, Kristen Ewing and Brandon Sowers; great-grandchildren, Xavier, Brieana and Ali; brothers and sisters-in-law, Roger and Barbara McCoy of Belspring, and Vernon and Mary McCoy of Radford; and sisters, Gloria Highsmith of Jacksonville, Fla., and Anna Curry of Dayton, Ohio. The family will receive friends from 12 until 1 p.m. on Monday, November 27, 2017 at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford. Funeral services will begin at 1 p.m. with Rev. Timothy Worles and Rev. Brian Cockram officiating. Interment will follow at the West View Cemetery in Radford.
