Barbara Jean Stigger Hubbard, 70, of Radford, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, May 15, 2012. Meeting her there were her mother, Frances Cobbs Calloway, who was waiting with open arms, her father, Fred Calloway, Sr., her oldest sister, Rita Marie Stigger, her only brother, Fred Calloway Jr., and her first grandchild, Shyretta Stigger. She was a member of the First Missionary Baptist Church in New River and worked for many years at the old St. Albans Hospital. Left to cherish her memory and celebrate her life are her sister, Helen Hill of Bridgeport, Conn.; two daughters, Deborah (Ralph) Brooks of New River and Janice St. John of Roanoke; two like-daughters, Betty Crouse of New River and Natlyn Black (Twiggy) of Pulaski; sister-in-law Evelyn Calloway of Roanoke; two granddaughters, LaTosha and Yashika Brooks of Roanoke; two great-grandsons, Tru-E'Mecca Isaiah and Zion Jabari Nasir both of Roanoke; two very close, special cousins who were like siblings to her, Phyllis Jean of Roanoke and Paul Terry Dehart of Greensboro, NC. Also left to cherish her memory are three step-granddaughters, Marcella Clark of Naruna, Tonja Eaves of Radford, and Sharemba Bacon of Christiansburg; two step-grandsons, Antwan Smith and Desmond Smith, both of Blacksburg; five step-great grandchildren, Ja'Quan and Jada Clark, Tiohna Eaves, and Trevon and Shaakira Bacon; and a host of special nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 19, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Missionary Baptist Church in New River with Rev. Ronald Brown officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service.
