Obituary

Ashley Nicole Sampson-Kundes, 36, of Radford, VA, beloved daughter, sister, fiancée, and friend, passed away on October 31, 2026, in Roanoke, VA. She was born on March 7, 1990, in Tallahassee, Florida, to Bill D. Sampson and Michelle Johnson.

Ashley was the eldest of five children and was raised in Radford, where she graduated from high school and attended Radford University. She had a giving and loving heart, and she was a sister and friend to so many. She found joy in music, in children, and in animals, and she cared for all of them tenderly. Through every challenge she faced, she kept a smile that people never forgot.

Even in death, Ashley gave. As an organ donor, she gave the gift of sight to two people, who will now be able to see. It was a final act of generosity from someone who always gave.

She was preceded in death by her father, Bill Sampson.

She is survived by her fiancé, Kerry Kundes; her mother, Michelle Johnson, and stepfather, Dave Johnson; her brothers, David Redding and Ben Harvey; her sisters, Rachel Harvey, Bethany Harvey, and Elana Fonner; and many others who loved her dearly.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Ashley’s life at a funeral service on Saturday, November 7, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at New Mount Olive United Methodist Church, 309 Russell Ave., Radford, VA 24141.

Because Ashley loved animals so much, the family asks that, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made in her honor to the Radford Animal Shelter, 110 Pulaski Street, Radford, VA 24141.

She will be missed beyond words.

Ashley’s beloved family is in the care of Mullins Funeral Home & Crematory in Radford, VA www.mullinsfuneralhome.com.
