Anna Sumner Akers, 78, of Pulaski, passed away Tuesday, October 18, 2016. She was a member of the Fairlawn Church of God and retired from Inland Motors. She was preceded in death by her parents, Vernon Sumner and Beulah Nester; husband, Robert Carl Akers, Sr.; and sons, Robert Carl Akers, Jr. and Brian Keith Akers. Survivors include her daughters and son-in-law, Donna and David Meredith of Pulaski, and Kathy Taylor of Blacksburg; grandson and his wife, Keith and Ashley Brogan; great grandchildren, Bryttani Burton, Jacob Burton and Kash Brogan; and brothers and sister-in-law, Donald Sumner of Radford, and Jackie and Bonnie Sumner of Dublin. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m. Thursday, October 20, 2016 at the Fairlawn Church of God. Memorial services will begin at 7 p.m. with Rev. Marcus Harrison officiating.
