Harless Leon Bain, 73, passed away Sunday, December 9, 2012 and his loving wife of 51 years, Anita Walker Bain, 69, passed away Monday, December 10, 2012 at their home in Radford. They were married November 17, 1961 and were both members of the Radford Worship Center. Harless was a retired pipe fitter with Johnson Controls and was a US Army veteran. Anita was retired from C&P Telephone Co with the engineering department. She received certification in Business Management in 1961, Pioneer of American, American Business Women's Association, Beta Sigma Phi, and was honored with the titles Boss of Year in 1979 and Woman of Year in 1981. She was a member of the Twelfth Edition Personalities of the South. Harless was preceded in death by his parents, Riner and Johnnie Shelburne Bain, brothers, Walter and Kenneth Bain, and sister, Agnes Omps. He is survived by brothers and sister-in-law, Rev. David Bain of Natural Bridge, and Carl and Helen Bain of Ocala, FL; and sister, Ocie Ratcliffe of Radford. Anita was preceded in death by her father, Lawrence Edward Walker. Survivors include her mother, Blanche W. Collier; brother and sister-in-law, Larry and Brenda Walker; niece, Renee Walker Ratcliffe and her husband Tim; and great-nephew, Dakota Young, all of Radford. Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 13, 2012 at 11:00 am at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford with Dr. Hal Adams and Rev. David Bain officiating. Interment will follow in the Appalachian Conference Cemetery in Dublin. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the funeral home.
