Biography

Eula Mae Simpkins Meredith, 79, of Snowville, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Friday, July 27, 2012. She was a member of Snowville Baptist Church. She retired from St. Alban’s Hospital as a nurse’s aide. She was preceded in death by Lincoln (Buddie) Meredith, her husband of 63 years, her parents, Arlie and Janie Smith Simpkins, and siblings Frankie Lee, Arlie K. and Ethel Gaye Simpkins. Survivors include her daughter, Bonnie M. King of Dothan, Ala.; grandson and his wife, Grady and Diana King of Dothan, Ala.; granddaughter, Stephanie King of Auburn, Ala; great grandsons, J. B. and James King of Dothan, Ala; sisters Kathryn Simpkins of Michigan, Barbara Wilson of Dublin, Elaine Davis of Pulaski, Patricia Robinson of Pennsylvania, and Betty Gibas of Newbern; brothers Cecil Simpkins of Pulaski, Exel and Denver Simpkins, both of Dublin, Tommy Simpkins of Pilot, Douglas Simpkins of Alabama and Jerry Simpkins of Pulaski; an aunt, Nora Flinchum; an uncle, Melvin Smith; sisters-in-law, Winnie Meredith of Christiansburg, Alice Louisene Meredith of Radford and Adell M. Adkins of Fairlawn; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Monday, July 30, 2012 at 11 am at the Snowville Baptist Church with Rev. Neil Wood officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3 pm until 5 pm Sunday evening at the church. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to the Snowville Baptist Church, 5296 Lead Mine Road, Hiwassee, VA 24347. The Meredith family is in the care of Mullins Funeral Home & Crematory in Radford.
